Where to Find Christmas Magic in Sydney This Year

Christmas in Sydney in 2013 will be a blaze of lights, trees and red-coated Santas. Here is where to catch them, thanks to New Year’s Eve Blog:

The City

On the 29th November, kick off the Christmas season with a children’s concert and lighting of the Christmas Tree in Martin Place.

Sydney Town Hall will light up with magical light projections during the season.

Darling Harbour

Hunt for nine Santas in the precinct’s ‘Santa Fest’, snare a letter from each Santa that spells out a certain nine-letter word, and win a Christmas present. There will be Santas everywhere in this festival from November 24 to December 24 – even on stilts.

Every Saturday night during the festival, take in fireworks at Cockle Bay. On Christmas Eve, a carols session will brighten the atmosphere around the huge Christmas Tree. Expect more fireworks!

Fun Run

Even Santa needs encouragement, especially if he is competing in the annual Variety Santa Fun Run for charity. Be at the starting line from 7am on November 25 to cheer your favourite jolly red gent on.

Also look for Christmas carols and kids’ concerts in Rushcutters Bay, Rosebery, Alexandria and Surry Hills.
