What to Have in your Travel Pack

If you are going backpacking you will have limited space to bring what you need. This is why you have to know exactly what you need to take and what can be left out. If you’re going overseas, to make your trip easier be aware of what you can easily buy when you get there and what you will want on hand immediately. This can include:

  • A basic first aid kit – this is a good idea for any trip, but you may want something larger if you are going to be getting outdoors a lot on your travels.
  • Your bathroom supplies – be aware of liquid restrictions on planes and buy either small bottles or travel sized shampoo, conditioner, soap and toothpaste. Keep this to your essentials and don’t bring any bulky bathroom supplies.
  • Medication – if you are travelling to a developed country don’t stress about headache tablets and commonly-available medication. Just make sure your prescriptions are enough to cover your trip and make sure you have a note from your doctor as customs may need to see it.
  • Clothing – again, keep it simple and remember you will be washing clothes on your trip. Every extra t-shirt is less space for souvenirs or new clothes when you are travelling.
