Sydney’s Top Beaches for Weekends

Sydney has some truly spectacular beaches, and locals have been known to plan their leisure time around which beach they will be visiting on the weekend. Some of the best beaches in Sydney are Bondi, Bronte, and Manly, all of which offer opportunities for café and bar hopping as well as shopping.

Bondi beach is probably Sydney’s most famous beach. Visitors can swim, soak up the sun, sample the local café culture, and take a walk along the coastal walk between Bondi and Coogee for a glimpse of the scenic cliff tops. Along Gould Street are various swimwear stores and other boutiques for shoes and clothing. The Shop and Wine Bar is an example of some of the great bars near Bondi Beach.

Bronte is known for being less busy than Bondi. There is a thriving local surf culture and a range of excellent cafes including Iggy’s and Bronte Carlo. The local park is a popular venue for barbeques and picnics. Visitors should also make time for the Bronte Baths.

Manly is home to excellent cafés, bars, and shopping boutiques such as Murdok and Mint. A new bar is Hemingway’s, which is popular for its cocktails and snacks. There is also a scenic walkway that winds from the beach to Spit Bridge.
